Note : If you are a student of Japanese, please check out the word "agetai" from the phrase "Subetewo tsutsunde agetai". It sounds rather diferrent from the simple phrase "Tsutsumitai" in a point of view of implication. I don't know how a dictionary explains it,(maybe your dictionary doesn't) ,but I believe it'll give you better insight into this song.
To tell the truth, I'm not sure if I'm right in the way of translations for the last 2 verses with the chorus. I just can't be sure
